  • Inside each hub, the Omniful system assigns products into specific locations that are set by the users with main purpose of guiding pickers to locations of products while processing orders via the system.
  • When creating locations , the current tool of manually creating locations can work for small hubs/stores with few locations (i.e. up to 100 location). understanding locations in Omniful

How to create locations in Omniful dashboard

Note: (for newly created hubs user needs to carefully read the explanation of layout types and location elements meanings in Omniful system)

1. Click on the hub

2. Click on the location tab, then click on Create New

3. After creating the floors, aisles, racks, and shelves user clicks on locations and Create New.

Note on current types of locations in the system upon creating final location:

a) Pickable: is the location type where inventory is stored/put-away and is usable for picking activities while quantities on those locations are published to sales channels online and are available for picking

b) Backstorage: is a location type where inventory is stored/putaway, while the quantities under backstorage locations are normally kept for other supply chain purposes than direct picking. Quantities maintained in the
backstorage locations count in the on-hand Qty logic but does not serve as available quantities for picking or being published online to sales channels.
c) Consolidation: is the type of location where pickers and operators use those spaces to aggregate/consolidate the multi-picked SKUs by zone in case of opting none-segregated multi order picking methodology while preparing orders
